We buy surplus electrical wire in Alabama

Full reels, partial reels, coils and boxed stock. If it is electrical wire or cable, send us the reel tag, the gauge and the footage, and we will tell you what it is worth.

01 / What we buy

Wire and cable, quoted on the wire.

Our buying scope is deliberately narrow, because wire is what we know: conductor, insulation, voltage class and footage. Everything on this site is about that inventory — what qualifies, what to photograph and how a quote is put together.

02 Where surplus comes from

Wire that is paid for and sitting still

Most of the wire we look at was bought for a job and never installed. A project gets re-engineered, a feeder size changes, a building package is cut back, or a distributor ends up with a reel that no longer matches the next order. The wire is still wrapped, still tagged, and worth money to somebody — it just is not worth money to the business storing it.

Other wire comes out of maintenance stockrooms, plant shutdowns, demolition packages and service trucks. Insulation may be sun-faded. The reel may be half full. None of that disqualifies the wire: what matters is the conductor material, the gauge or MCM, the voltage rating and how many feet are actually left.

  • New surplus in original wrap, with the manufacturer tag still attached
  • Opened boxes and short cut lengths left over from a commercial job
  • Partial reels, including reels with footage written in marker on the flange
  • Full reels and full lifts that were never issued to a crew
  • Mixed pallets of THHN, XHHW, MC, SER, tray cable and control cable
  • Medium-voltage cable and utility stock in 5kV through 69kV classes

What makes a lot quotable is identity: a cable type, a voltage class and an honest footage. If your surplus includes cable alongside other electrical equipment, describe the cable on its own — type, size, voltage and reel count — and we will quote that portion accurately.

03 / How it works

Four steps, one conversation

No account setup, no online portal, no obligation until you accept an offer.

  1. Send the details

Use the quote form or email the wire type, metal, gauge or MCM, voltage, footage and where the inventory sits.

  2. Add photos

Reel flanges, cable tags, jacket print and a wide shot of the whole lot. Photos are what let us quote without a site visit.

  3. Review the offer

We come back with a number or a request for one more detail. You decide whether to move forward.

  4. Clear the space

Once you accept, we coordinate removal and freight from your dock, yard or jobsite.

04 / Alabama coverage

From the Tennessee Valley to the Gulf Coast

We quote wire across Alabama by region, not by storefront. We do not claim a yard, branch or staffed office in any city we list.

05 Who we buy from

Built for the people who end up holding the reel

Electrical contractors, distributors and wholesalers, plant maintenance and reliability teams, manufacturers, automotive and aerospace suppliers, data centre operators, utilities and power generators, hospitals, pharmaceutical and chemical plants, paper mills, steel and metal facilities, demolition contractors, warehouses, universities and research facilities all end up with wire they cannot use.

Each of those sellers has a different problem. A contractor needs a partial reel out of the connex before the next job. A distributor needs slow-moving stock off the rack. A plant needs the stockroom cleared for an audit. A demolition contractor needs the building emptied on schedule. The questions we ask change with the situation; the buying scope does not.

  • Single reels, single pallets or an entire stockroom
  • Tagged and photographed on site, or listed on a spreadsheet with footages
  • Copper and aluminum, building wire through medium-voltage cable
  • New surplus, unused overstock, cancelled-project stock and usable partials

See how we work with each type of seller and what to send with an inventory list.

One form, four photo slots. If you are on a phone, take the pictures as you walk the rack — the reel tag and the jacket print are the two that matter most.

Details and photos

Include anything that affects removal: dock height, forklift capacity, appointment rules.

Photos help most when they show the reel flange tag, the print on the jacket, the conductor end and a wide shot of the lot. JPG, PNG, HEIC or PDF; keep the four uploads under 10 MB in total. Larger sets can be emailed to saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com.

Submitting this form does not commit you to anything. We reply with an offer or a question — never a mailing list.

07 / Questions

Before you send anything

Do you buy partial reels and short lengths?

Yes. Partial reels, opened boxes and cut lengths are a normal part of what we quote, provided we can establish the wire type, gauge, voltage rating and approximate footage. Write the remaining footage on the flange or include the tag photo.

Do you buy aluminum wire as well as copper?

Yes. Aluminum building wire, SER, SEU, URD, USE-2 and aluminum feeder cable are all in scope, along with copper THHN, XHHW, bare copper and insulated grounding conductors.

What is the smallest quantity you will look at?

A single full reel or a single pallet is enough to start a conversation. Very small lots of mixed cut lengths are usually not economical to move, but send the details and we will say so honestly.

Do you have an office or yard in Alabama?

No. We buy across Alabama and arrange removal from your location, but this website does not represent a staffed office, branch or storage yard in any city we serve. Everything starts with a phone call, an email or the quote form.

What photos help most?

Three do most of the work: the manufacturer tag on the reel flange, a close-up of the print on the cable jacket, and a wide shot showing how many reels or coils are in the lot. Add a tape measure against the conductor if the gauge is unclear.

Have a reel you cannot use?

Send the tag and the footage. We will reply with a straight answer, not a range.
