01 / Buying scope

What we buy

What types of wire do you buy?

Copper and aluminum building wire; THHN, THWN, THWN-2, XHHW and XHHW-2; MC, AC, tray cable, VFD, TC, PLTC, SER, SEU, URD and USE-2; bare copper, insulated copper and grounding wire; welding cable and SOOW; flexible, control, instrumentation, communication, shielded, fire-alarm and low-voltage cable; medium and high-voltage cable from 5kV through 69kV and above; and EPR, XLPE and concentric-neutral cable.

Can you quote a lot that includes other electrical equipment?

Yes. Describe the cable separately — type, size, voltage, footage and reel count — and we will quote that portion on its own. This site concentrates on the wire and cable side of the inventory.

Do you buy aluminum wire?

Yes. Aluminum building wire, SER, SEU, URD, USE-2 and aluminum feeder cable are all in scope. List aluminum separately from copper so each lot is priced on its own basis.

Do you buy medium-voltage cable?

Yes — 5kV, 8kV, 15kV, 25kV, 35kV and 69kV+ cable, including EPR and XLPE insulated constructions, concentric-neutral primary and utility stock. Send the voltage class, insulation type and any test documentation you have.

Do you buy welding cable and portable cord?

Yes. Welding cable, SOOW, SJOOW, Type W and Type G cord are bought in coils, partial spools and full lengths, provided the jacket print identifies the cable.

02 / Condition

Condition and quantity

Do you buy used wire?

It depends on what "used" means. Wire that was installed and pulled out is considered case by case, and condition of the insulation matters. New surplus, unused overstock, cancelled-project stock and opened boxes are straightforward. Wire recovered from demolition needs photos of the jacket and ends before we can price it.

Do you buy partial reels?

Yes. Partials are common. Mark the remaining footage on the flange or send the reel diameter and wrap count so we can estimate together.

Is there a minimum quantity?

A single full reel or one pallet is enough to start. Very small mixed lots of short cut lengths are usually not economical to move, and we will say so rather than waste your time.

What if the reel tag is missing?

The jacket print repeats the type, size and listings, so photograph that instead. If both are gone, measure the conductor and describe the insulation; we can often still identify the cable.

Do you buy damaged or weathered reels?

Often, yes. Sun-faded jackets, dirty flanges and rusted banding do not automatically disqualify a reel. Crushed or rotten wooden flanges may require re-spooling before transport, which affects logistics rather than whether we are interested.

03 / Process

Quotes, payment and removal

How do I get a quote?

Use the quote form on this site, email saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com, or call +1 (614) 715-3047. Include the wire type, metal, gauge or MCM, voltage, footage, reel count and where the wire is located, plus photos of tags and jacket print.

How quickly will I hear back?

Most submissions get a response once the inventory and photos are reviewed. If a critical detail is missing — footage, voltage, or whether the lot is copper or aluminum — the reply will be a question rather than a number.

Do you charge for a quote?

No. Quotes are free and there is no obligation to accept.

Do I have to deliver the wire?

No. Removal and freight are arranged from your location once an offer is accepted. Tell us about dock access, forklift capacity, gate hours and any site requirements so the pickup can be planned properly.

Do you have an Alabama office or yard?

No. We buy across Alabama and arrange removal from seller locations, but we do not claim a staffed office, branch or storage yard in any city listed on this site.

04 / Selling

Paperwork and practicalities

Can you work with our vendor onboarding process?

Tell us the requirement before the quote — vendor forms, insurance certificates, bills of sale or disposition paperwork. We will confirm what we can provide before you invest time in the process.

Can you sign a bill of sale or scrap manifest?

Yes, a bill of sale covering the material removed is normal. If your organisation requires a specific form, send it with the inventory.

How are photos used?

Only to identify and evaluate the wire you are offering. They are delivered by email through our form service and are not published on this website.

Can I send a spreadsheet instead of using the form?

Yes. Email the list to saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com with columns for type, size, voltage, footage, reel count, condition and location. Photos of representative tags help.
