01 Local market

A commercial market with frequent fit-outs

Hoover's electrical work is dominated by commercial fit-out and renovation: retail centers along Highway 31, office and medical space near the interstate, and restaurant and hospitality projects that turn over every few years. Each cycle leaves wire behind.

The pattern is consistent. A tenant improvement package orders 1,000 feet of MC for a ceiling grid, uses most of it, and shelves the rest. A medical office orders fire alarm cable and plenum cable in boxes, finishes the job with half of each. A service upgrade leaves a partial SER reel.

Those partials are small individually and meaningful in aggregate. If you have a connex or a back room with a dozen partial reels, list them together rather than picking the best one.

02 Wire types

Common Hoover inventory

  • MC and AC partial reels from tenant fit-outs and ceiling work.
  • THHN/THWN-2 boxes, opened and unopened, in #12 through #8.
  • Fire alarm and plenum cable from medical and retail projects.
  • SER and service entrance conductor from panel and service upgrades.
  • Cat 5e and Cat 6 boxes from data and low-voltage packages.

Because these are mostly small put-ups, the photos that matter are box labels and reel tags rather than wide shots of a yard.

03 Access

Storage units and shop back rooms

A lot of Hoover surplus sits in a storage unit or the back of a service shop rather than at a jobsite. That is fine, but tell us: a ten-by-twenty unit with a roll-up door is a different pickup from a dock.

If the material is in a unit, send a photo from the doorway. It tells us volume, whether it is palletized, and whether the reels can be rolled out or must be carried.

Print from the jacket or the reel tag.

Details and photos

Include anything that affects removal: dock height, forklift capacity, appointment rules.

Photos help most when they show the reel flange tag, the print on the jacket, the conductor end and a wide shot of the lot. JPG, PNG, HEIC or PDF; keep the four uploads under 10 MB in total. Larger sets can be emailed to saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com.

Submitting this form does not commit you to anything. We reply with an offer or a question — never a mailing list.

05 / Questions

Hoover questions

Do you buy small quantities from a service van or shop?

Yes, provided the lot is large enough to justify a pickup. A dozen partial reels is workable; two half-boxes usually is not.

Can you collect from a storage unit?

Yes. Send the unit size, door type and a photo from the doorway so the load can be planned.

Do you buy fire alarm cable from tenant fit-outs?

Yes, in FPLR and FPLP constructions, opened or unopened, with the remaining length noted.

Back room full of partials?

Photograph the shelf, then the labels. We will quote the lot as a group.
